Exploring Valencia

Valencia is Spain’s 3rd largest city and an amazing place to be explored! It’s full of history, has the beach, and plenty of things to do in Valencia, both inside and outside the city.

Best Places to Enjoy Brunch in Valencia

I’m a sucker for a brunch and some nice coffee. It’s so easy to meet up with a friend, get a jumpstart on your day, or take your laptop and get some work done. That’s why I’ve compiled a list of my favorite spots for brunch in Valencia, Spain:

1. Dulce de Leche

Ruzafa and others

Dulce de Leche Ruzafa

Dulce de Leche is a popular cafe with several locations throughout the city. While this is normally a pastry shop with many sweet items, they also specialize in juices and milkshakes or ‘batidos‘. I’m more of a savory over sweet kind of person, but still love going there for my sweet fix!

2. Bastard Coffee and Kitchen

Ruzafa

Bastard Coffee and Kitchen

This cafe is always bustling no matter what time you go! They have a special brunch combo with coffee, juice, eggs benedict plus other items to choose from, and a dessert, and even serve lunch later in the day. There are so many items on the menu, and I just wish I had time to try them all!

3. Blackbird Coffee

Ruzafa

Located in Ruzafa, this small cafe is popular with expats and locals alike. You order your coffee and food at the bar and pick a table. They also have a variety of fresh pastries. Blackbird has less variety with coffee, but tastes the best in my opinion! I’m especially obsessed with the bacon and pesto mayonnaise sandwich!

4. Federal Cafe

Ciutat Vella

Federal is owned by Australians and you can actually order Vegemite here! The menu is customizable, so you have the choice of ordering one of their items, or asking for eggs with toast plus anything you could ever imagine. Federal also has several coffee options and the cafe is always full of students. There is a large table to accommodate many people on laptops or to serve as a meeting place for group projects.

5. Brunch Corner

Ciutat Vella

Brunch Corner

Brunch corner, located east of Valencia Cathedral, has tables outside to enjoy the morning, as well as a small, quiet area inside in case you want to study. Brunch corner also have more of a variety of drinks, such as matcha latte, mochaccinos, and a few breakfast cocktails.

6. Bluebell Coffee

Ruzafa

Bluebell Coffee has the best atmosphere, hands down. The interior of the cafe has a bit of an international, Moroccan atmosphere, and the main dining area is a secluded garden. A hidden gem in Valencia! However, if you want to have a coffee and study or do some work, they don’t have their wifi available on the weekends since the cafe is much more busy.

7. Jungle Por Favor

Extramurs

This plant-filled, relatively new coffee shop offers a cute, botanical atmosphere with great coffee and options for brunch. The brunch is a bit more Spanish, with lots of different variations of tostada with tomate, but also includes other unique options, as well as a set brunch combo for only 10 euros!

8. La Más Bonita

Ruzafa and Patacona Beach

This cafe/restaurant has two main locations: Ruzafa and Playa Patacona, as well as a chiringuito (beach bar). Each location has slightly different menus, but usually carry nice pastries and great coffee, along with several lunch items. The one in Ruzafa is a great place for studying or working!

9. Rogel

Extramurs

Rogel is a bit of an industrial chic coffee place, complete with various pastries. You have the option of creating your own tostada with whatever ingredients you want (bacon, avocado, egg, cheese, ham, etc.) and can enjoy a delicious coffee. Rogel is also perfect for working, as there are many tables, nice wifi, and plugs to charge your laptop.

10. Milk and Butter

Ruzafa

This small restaurant in Ruzafa has a bit more of an American breakfast, complete with biscuits, french toast, pancakes and even mimosas! There are a couple tables to eat outside, which is perfect for a sunny day in Valencia.

Hope you enjoy eating your way through the brunch spots in Valencia! Where have you found some great brunch?

Nice to meet you!! I’m a small town Texas girl w Nice to meet you!! I’m a small town Texas girl who has since lived abroad and traveled to over 50 countries.Growing up, travel seemed so unattainable and just not in the stars for me. I was always interested in different cultures and languages, but the biggest cultural experience I had in my small town was the taco truck down the street. Now, I’ve lived in 4 countries, learned 3 foreign languages, and have discovered that travel doesn’t need to be for the uber rich or dual nationality. I’ve created a lifestyle for myself that lends itself to travel, adventure, and new experiences.I’ve discovered countries with a backpack, from the back of a motorcycle (@thetejanabiker), on a student visa, and hopefully soon from the left seat of a single engine airplane (as soon as I get my license!!)If any of this resonates with you, you’re in the right place.
Welcome to the adventure my friends 🗺️
