Rooftop bars in Madrid
With buildings reaching to be the same height and a lack of skyscrapers, Madrid is the perfect city for rooftop bars. Each one has its own personality, and are great places to enjoy a tinto de verano or even swim in the summer, while having an amazing view. Check out Madrid’s best rooftop bars below:
Note: Some of these have different prices or packages during the summer months
Circulo de Bellas Artes
The most famous one, but also the most expensive. The Circulo de Bellas Artes is right off of Gran Via and easy to find on a map. To get to the top, you must wait in line and pay 4 euros, not including a drink. It may be the most expensive rooftop bar in Madrid, but compared to anywhere else it’s really cheap!
El Corte Ingles
Completely free and easy to get to, the rooftop at El Corte Ingles offers a nice view for locals and tourists alike. El Corte Ingles is a huge chain throughout Spain. It normally includes a supermarket in the basement, then floors and floors of clothing, home decor, electronics, furniture, and anything else your heart could desire. The Corte Ingles near metro station Callao has a gourmet market on the 9th floor that opens onto a rooftop. You can order food and drink and sit outside if there’s room. If not, it’s worth it to go just for the view, since you’ll probably be in the area anyway!
Casa Suecia
Casa Suecia is right next door to Circulo de Bellas Artes and inside a hotel. You have to pay to enter, but the ‘entrada’ includes a drink once you’re at the top. There are two stories to this rooftop, and on weekends you can also order food.
The Dear Hotel
The Dear Hotel is a bit of a secret. This hotel is located on Gran Via, close to Plaza de España. It’s small but offers nice views of the city, especially at sunset.
To get to the rooftop you need to tell the receptionist that you want to go to the ‘azotea.’ They will direct you to the elevator that takes you there. However, you are required to buy a drink to stay.
The Mint Roof
The Mint Roof Madrid is a quaint little rooftop located right off of Gran Via. Although it may not have the 360 degree view that other rooftops have, the charm of Mint is the atmosphere. The Mint rooftop decor makes you seem like you’re out at a park on a nice day, ordering a drink from the nearby food truck.
It’s located inside Hotel Vincci, and you’ll have to ask the receptionist about it to take the elevator.
Gymage
Gymage is a crazy gym/restaurant/shop located in Malasaña, the hipster neighborhood of Madrid. Although it doesn’t have that great of a view, the terrace is awesome, with an extensive cocktail menu and a pool that opens in the summer months. The pool is the best part, but be sure to make a reservation here
These were my go-to places but there are many more rooftop bars in Madrid! Let me know your favorite ones and check out other things to do in Madrid

What a unique post! I love how many rooftop bars there are for great views – definitely saving this for future reference! I could easily stay at the Mint Roof happily taking in that view!

Oooh these look like gorgeous spots to drink! I am pretty sure I went drinking on a rooftop bar in Madrid, (after a language learning conference) but I am a bit of a lightweight, so I don’t really remember much after drinking with new friends! Next time I’ll have to take it easy and relax at these options.
I LOVE the look of the mint hotel views. 🙂

Josy AHahahaha wonder which one you went to! The Mint is very cute atmosphere but I think some of the others are better for the 360 degree view 🙂

I LOVE rooftop bars, especially in Europe where you can also admire the architecture of the city. I haven’t been to Madrid yet so will definitely check these out whenever I am able to visit 🙂 Thanks for the suggestions!

Ahh Madrid! I’ve spent just two days there, and while my cousin was showing me around, we kept saying that we’ll have to go to the Dear Hotel, but we managed to skip it each day. Can’t wait to be back and explore it and some other rooftop bars!

HelgaIt was the first rooftop I visited and remained one of my favorites, although I like each one in different ways!
