Valencia, Spain’s third largest city, is the perfect getaway if you’re looking for sun, beach, and a beautiful, cultural city. From futuristic monuments to historical neighborhoods, there’s many different instagram spots in Valencia to choose from!

I’ve lived and spent a lot of time in Valencia, and I love this city! There is so much to do and see, and lots of great spots for making all your friends jealous of your trip to Spain and time in Valencia!

Instagrammable Spots in Valencia

1. City of Arts & Sciences

The City of Arts and Sciences is the most iconic monument in the city, and for good reason! This museum complex is actually comprised of several different buildings, including an opera house, an aquarium, a science museum, and a 4-D theater!

You can’t go to Valencia without getting these iconic photos with the Hemisfèric (building shown). Once there, you can also rent a paddle boat on the water, taste some horchata, visit the different attractions, or rent a bike and head down the Turia park. The whole City of Arts and Sciences complex is definitely one of the most instagrammable spots in Valencia.

2. L’Umbracle

Also at the City of Arts & Sciences is the L’Umbracle garden. A decorative garden during the day, and a bumping nightclub at night! It’s a nice little oasis in the middle of the complex, and makes for some great photos!

Want professional photos to commemorate your time in Valencia? There are many photographers in Valencia offering photowalks and shoots on Airbnb Experiences.

3. Playa Malvarossa

What’s a trip to Valencia without visiting the beach?? The beach of Valencia has a really nice promenade full of shops, restaurants, and beach clubs. You can start in Malvarossa and possibly make your way down all the way to Patacona. You’ll notice the beach gets less and less crowded the farther you go down.

There are plenty of photo ops near the water of course, especially if you’re there during golden hour. You can also though walk up to where the bike lanes are, as there is a nice little street of palm trees before reaching the water.

4. Turia park

The Turia is a dried up riverbed that has been converted into a park and sprawls across the city. It’s common for locals and tourists alike to take a bicycle, jog around the park, attend a yoga session, or have a picnic close to the Arts & Sciences complex. There are plenty of photo opportunities with the endless greenery and palm trees.

5. Mercat Central

The Central Market of Valencia is a must-see spot and perfect for some stunning photos. The outside of the market is a beautiful and modernist, yet still iconic building of Valencia. Better yet, the inside has a gorgeous stained glass display inside the dome, and you can take your pick from many different market stalls with colorful displays for a nice, shopping photo. While you’re there, taste some tapas or grab a drink after a long day of exploring.

Port Saplaya is a 10-15 minute drive from Valencia, or about 40 minutes by bus, and well worth it! This little port city is a mini Venice, complete with boats, colorful villages with cute balconies, and a quaint little beach. Definitely one of the best instagrammable spots in Valencia and the perfect opportunity to explore a bit outside the city.
